Classic:

A work of literature that is universally acknowledged to be superior to other works. The  word "Classic" originated from Roman. It has a number of meaning may be distinguished but mainly-

a. first rank or authority

b. belonging to the literature or art of Greece and Rome

c. a writer or work of the first rank, and of generally recognized excellence.

The term is also used to mean all the literary  products of Greece and Rome. Its adjective is Classical. Classical literature may be the literature of ancient Greece and Rome.












There are five characters of classics. They are 

1. poetic truth

2. poetry beauty

3. high seriousness

4. antiquity

5. universality
