                                            Padma Bridge

The Padma Bridge is the longest bridge in Bangladesh. It is our dream bridge. Its official name is the Padma Multipurpose Bridge. It is located in the Jajira point of Mawa and Shariatpur. It is about 6.15 kilometers long. Its width is 18.10 meters. It has 42 pillars. Each pillar has 150 meters distance from each other. It has 41 spans. Each span weights about 3140 tons. This bridge has two levels. One is upper level and another is lower level. The upper level is used for four lanes of road transport and the lower level is used for the railway line. The total construction cost is about 30 thousand 793 crore and 39 lac taka. The bridge connected the southern 21 districts with the capital city of Dhaka. It is the 25th largest land bridge in the world. The Padma Bridge is a glorious achievement in the country's history.
