Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was an undisputed leader of Bangladesh. He was also one of the most influential political figures in South Asia. He was the first president of Bangladesh. He liberated Bangladesh from the Pakistani rule in 1971 through a bloody liberation war. He was born in an aristocratic Bengali Muslim family on March 17, 1920 at Tungipara in Gopalganj district. His childhood nickname was “Khoka”. His father's name was Sheikh Lutfar Rahman. His mother's name was Sayera Khatun. He passed his Matriculation from Gopalganj Missionary School in 1942. He passed Intermediate from Calcutta Islamia College in 1944. He also completed his B.A. from the same college in 1947.
