SM Sultan is a famous painter in Bangladesh. His full name was Sheikh Mohammed Sultan. He was born in Narail district in 1923. His family was very poor. But he loved drawing since his childhood. He was a student of Calcutta Art College. He painted pictures of the farmers and fishermen of Bangladesh. He loved children. For this reason, he established Nandankanon and Shishuswargo for children. Every year, Sultan Mela is held in Narail for his birth anniversary. He died in 1994 in Jashore.
