University Wits:

There were some young dramatists and pamphleteers in the Elizabethan Period. They were scholar or witty students of Oxford and Cambridge University. They were known as University Wits. They achieved great fame by writing and staging many famous plays.

There were about 7 famous University Wits. They were:

2. Thomas Kyd

3. Robert Greene

4. George Peele

5. Thomas Nashe

6. John Lyle

7. Thomas Lodge
