Difference between fiction and non-fiction

Difference between fiction and non-fiction:

Fiction is a vague and general term for an imaginative work. It is narrative writing drawn from the imagination or fancy of the author. Most of the time, it is an invention rather than actual history or fact. Sometimes it is based on facts but narrated with the color of imagination. The term is mostly frequently associated with novels and short stories, though drama and narrative poetry also include numerous examples of fiction. Fables, parables, and fairy tales also have fictional qualities.
On the other hand,
Nor-fiction is one kind of literary work. It is based on real characters and events. Biography, Autobiography, Essays, Reports, Newspaper articles, Diaries etc. are the examples of non-fiction.
