Buddha Purnima

Buddha Purnima is an annual festival for Buddha religious people. On this day Buddhists celebrate the birthday of the Gautam Buddha. Gautam Buddha was the founder of Buddhism. According to the Buddhist tradition, Gautam Buddha was born at around 563-483 BCE in Lumbini. Buddhists observe it annually according to the Gregorian Calendar. The date for the Celebration of Buddha's birthday varies from year to year in the Gregorian Calendar. But it usually falls in April or May. In leap year, it may be celebrate in June. This day is known as the 'Buddha Purnima'. The Buddhists people celebrate this day every year with great joy. They decorate Buddhist temples. They make a lot of fun in this day. On this day, newspapers bring out special supplements. There are  special programmes on the radio and television. The day is declared as a national holiday. This day has a special significance for all. All should follow the ideals of Gautam BuddhaGautam Buddha came to this world with a message of establishing peach and raising fellow feelings. He made a supreme sacrifice in order of reaching the goal. The world can establish new hopes and aspirations in the minds of people following the teaching of Gautam Buddha.
