 Rhythm

The sound pattern made by the rise and fall of the stresses in speech is called Rhythm. In literature, Rhythm is the pattern of stressed and unstressed beats. Rhythm is most commonly found in poetry. Though it is also present in some works of drama and poses. Rhythm is also closely associated with the meter.

Examples:

The woods are lovely dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep.

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.
