Diction:

Diction means word choice. It also means the vocabulary used by a writer. That means a particular writer chooses a particular type of words and phrases. For example, Milton uses bombastic, unusual, symbolic and Latinized words but Orwell uses simple, clear, and common words. So, the vocabulary/words chosen by a writer is called his diction.
